Tim and I used to write the songs on a four-track tape recorder. This particular song sounded brilliant on the four-track demo, but when we came to record it, it was I think awful. The song was recorded for the NME's C86 cassette. I was always surprised that they let us put the song on it. But it brought us to a lot of people's attention.
