From The Damned

Going down down again
Every day the same again
Every day dragged through the gates
The damned in the rain

In the rain the offices
Every day the same again
Every day dragged through the gates
The damned in the rain

Gone for them and the money men
Going down (down again)
Dragged through the gates
The damned in the rain
Every day dragged though the gates
The damned in the rain

In the rain the offices
Every day (dragged again)
Dragged through the gates
The damned in the rain

notes: Possibly McCarthy's darkest track, lyrically and musically.  Sounds like the drudgery of workaday life being likened to a descent into the gates of Hell.

Malcolm:

This is about people going to work. I had a rather
negative view of the world of work at the time. We had great fun with this when we played live because there was a lot of feedback and noise at the end. I always used to grind my plectrum to dust when I played it.
